Retinoblastoma Family Day in Calgary

The Canadian Retinoblastoma Society is pleased to support a Retinoblastoma Family Day in Calgary. Come meet other retinoblastoma families and interact with professionals in the retinoblastoma community!

There will be a Child Life program for children, run by Morgan Livingston. Adult education sessions will include presentations from a variety of professionals who work with retinoblastoma patients and families. (Panel members include Dr. Brenda Gallie and Dr. Anderson.)

This is a great opportunity for families, patients and health care professionals to learn about retinoblastoma, the current procedures, as well as genetics and care for the patient and family in the community.

Here are the details:

October 5, 2019
10:00am - 4:00pm
Kids Cancer Care Office
5757 4 Street SE
Calgary, Alberta

Lunch will be provided.

Cost is $10 per adult or $20 for the family.

Travel subsidy upon request for Edmonton ($75); or out-of-province ($150). Registration fee waived for families on social assistance.

(Event financially subsidized by the Canadian Retinoblastoma Society (thank you to our donors!) and by The Hospital for Sick Children Foundation (www.sickkidsfoundation.com) for their financial support of this conference. “The SickKids Foundation is, apart from government, the largest funder in child health in Canada.”)

Canadian Retinoblastoma Society

The Canadian Retinoblastoma Society (CRBS) is a federally incorporated charitable organization. We are run by a team of committed volunteers for the benefit of Canadians affected by retinoblastoma. We are the only charity in Canada dedicated exclusively to education, advocacy, and support for Canadian retinoblastoma families. Everyone on our Board of Directors has a personal connection to retinoblastoma.

While not directly affiliated with any particular doctor, hospital or program, the CRBS is proud to count many of Canada's retinoblastoma specialists as members. We maintain an open relationship with all of these professionals and collaborate with them on many projects.

Donations

We recently lost one of the co-founders of the Canadian Retinoblastoma Society. Catharine Ramsey will be sorely missed. Donations to the Catharine Ramsey Memorial Fund would be gratefully accepted through our partners at CanadaHelps.org.
